| Just as an idea, what if we had an academy starter deck? Or a choice of starter decks? That way, we can judge on skill, rather than favourable matchups ^^ we could create the decks between us, and perhaps focus one on Xyz monsters and one on Synchros? (And one on beaters like Malefics or somesuch)
Let me know what you guys think ^^

| that would be a bit unfair since they would have to get used to the deck as they duel plus they would have to make the deck. By letting them use the decks they have we can judge them on all spects of dueiling which is why creativity is an equal factor in testing. By limiting newcomers to starter decks we put them in a tight spot. But the idea is rather interesting thank you for your input. We could find someway to implement this during retests, which will test skill for the most part and improvement, so well see how it goes. | |

| Wanted to create a simillar thread with an other suggestion.
In my eyes dueling is not the only thing we should rely on. Willi and me thought about testing new duelists about rulings and general card knowledge (making easy ones for the newbs and harder for those who already duel for a time). A simple Match is never enough to decide in wich dorm someone belongs.

| I agree, but its the quickest way to gauge someones skill, which is why we have so many criteria. Is it perfect? Far from it. But its the most efficient way to test people quickly. We could make a supplement test, but that's something wed need to work on.Thanks for the input. | |

| we could offer a rulings test as extra credit for people who have recently been tested? | |

| That seems like a good idea, however there would still be some technicalities we would need to discuss concerning the contents of the test, and we must keep in mind wed have to make a new test practically every time so it is not shared. It is an idea that we should discuss more. | |

| i say different testing criteria depending on the level of skill we judge the duelist to possess | |

| but the criteria kinda determines their level of skill ,rain and also wouldnt that be a little unfair if we were testing everyone differently :/ we could be having people who dont know that many rules getting into shooting and semi pros getting into majestic/stardust | |

| Im just bringing this up, just because I can. What if there wasnt a rubric, but it was based on the testers opinion of belonging. I mean there are some people are placed into higher dorms than I personally think they should be, and others are lower in the dorms than is remotely possible. Of course, that would mean the current testers should be re-evaluated and what not, but its a possibility. | |

| I've not been here that long, and the fact that literally every new person I've met is in the lowest dorm kinda makes me think that the rubric doesn't work at all :/ | |

| alot of people put into stardust did deserve to be there upon testing but i think that several people have improved a lot and could get into shooting if they retest, so i dont think the rubric is the problem its just people getting better ^^ | |

| If the focus is purely on speed as opposed to quality, the tests are being done wrong, simple as that. A test should be as comprehensive as possible, so as to gauge skill, knowledge, and other factors, as opposed to just leaving it up to one match to decide everything. Just some food for thought. | |

| I gotta agree that i've been thinking about this for a while. One match doesn't decide the skill level, it was just the quickest way we could think of to get people tested.
Chancellors and Vice Chancellor's - We need to get together and discuss this.
